The Future Problem Solving (FPS) Program is an exciting opportunity for students in Years 6 to 10  to engage in a globally recognised competition that challenges and nurtures their creative, analytical, and logical thinking skills.”
Our FPS program caters to the diverse needs of students, providing a platform for collaboration and intellectual growth. 
Meeting Times:
Our dedicated teams meet before school, during lunchtime, and after school, offering flexibility to accommodate various schedules and commitments. Meeting times may vary depending on the group and time of year. 
Competition Structure:
Students prepare for the ‘Australian Qualifying Round’ throughout terms 1 to 3, culminating in the National Final in term 4 (if the team qualifies). Successful teams then progress to the International Finals in term 2 of the following year. 
Overview and Benefits:
The FPS program challenges teams of four students to collaboratively solve future-based problems, fostering skills in research, futuristic thinking, and teamwork. Designed to extend and enrich highly able students across multiple learning domains, the program prepares participants for the global stage. With a focus on nurturing creativity and analytical thinking, our St Leonard’s College FPS program empowers students to tackle the challenges of tomorrow.  
Major Achievements:
St Leonard’s College has consistently excelled in the Future Problem Solving competition, with recent achievements including 2nd place in the 2023 and 2022 Junior International Finals and 2nd place in the 2021 Middle International Final.
