Our St Leonard’s College Running and Fitness Club is an inclusive cocurricular opportunity for students in Years 5 to 12 to cultivate their running fitness and a sense of joy and camaraderie.”
Operating throughout all four terms, our Running and Fitness Club goes beyond the tracks within the College, extending to various external venues like Dendy Park, Brighton Beach, and selected athletics tracks. This dynamic approach ensures that each session is not only about physical health but also about fostering a love for running in diverse and engaging environments.
There are exciting opportunities to represent the College in various events such as the Victorian All Schools Cross Country Relay, Road Relay, and Cross Country Individual Championships throughout the year.
Running is not just a sport; it’s a powerful tool for enhancing physical health and fitness, mental well-being, and emotional balance. Stress reduction, staying in shape, and strengthening the heart and lungs are just a few of the numerous benefits. In the long run, it can even contribute to preventing chronic diseases later in life.
