Our Garden and Sustainability Group (The Green Team) is tailored for students in Years 1 to Year 4. This fun lunchtime activity allows your child to embark on a hands-on journey with nature.”
It’s a gateway to a greener, more sustainable future for our young learners.
At St Leonard’s College, we sow the seeds of curiosity, responsibility, and a lifelong appreciation for the environment. During these engaging sessions, students learn about how different plants grow from both seeds and cuttings. They learn about planting and growing plants in tune with the seasons, participating in authentic hands on gardening and growing activities.
The Green Team is not just about planting; it’s an opportunity for your child to connect with the earth and appreciate the wonders of the natural world in a supportive environment. Our College students are environmentally aware. Within the Green Team we empower them to investigate and take action for the environment, encouraging the whole St Leonard’s College community to ‘Step Lightly on the Earth’. We believe that each member of our community can make a difference.
As part of this enriching experience, we encourage students to bring an old T-shirt to wear over their uniform, and to bring along a pair of gardening gloves.
