At St Leonard’s College we believe in nurturing the holistic development of our students. One exceptional avenue through which we empower young minds is the Duke of Edinburgh program, open to students from Year 9 to Year 12 (ages 14 to 25).”
In the College’s spirit of true coeducation the Duke of Edinburgh (DoE) program is a mixed-gender initiative, fostering collaboration and camaraderie among participants.
Personalised Autonomous Program
Meetings with our dedicated DoE Program Coordinator occur on a needs basis, ensuring personalised attention for every participant.
One of the unique aspects of this program is the autonomy it grants participants. Students design their own programs, set goals, and define the path to achieve them, all within a supportive, non-competitive environment. Peer collaboration is encouraged, fostering an atmosphere where achievements are shared and celebrated together.
Tailored to Each Student’s Age, Stage and Passions
The challenge in each participant’s program is tailored to be age and stage-appropriate, ensuring that students experience personal growth at their own pace. With ample flexibility, every student at St Leonard’s College can pursue their passions with enthusiasm, making the Duke of Edinburgh program a truly enriching and fulfilling endeavour.
Award Recognition
Recognition is a cornerstone of our approach. Those who complete Bronze or Silver Awards are celebrated at our year level assemblies, while Gold Award achievers are acknowledged at Senior School assemblies and a prestigious ceremony at the Governor’s House.
Personal Growth Through Experience
Why choose the Duke of Edinburgh’s International Award at St Leonard’s College? It’s more than an achievement; it’s a journey towards personal growth and global recognition. This internationally acclaimed experiential learning program equips young individuals with skills that transcend classroom boundaries, preparing them for the challenges of life and work.
