“ Year 12 student Reza Amani was a finalist for the Academic Excellence Award at the Multicultural Youth Awards. This achievement exemplifies Reza’s resilience, and his ability to overcome challenges and embrace new opportunities.
The Multicultural Youth Awards celebrate students who not only demonstrate outstanding academic achievements but also play active leadership roles within their school or educational community.
Among this year’s exceptional finalists is our Year 12 student Reza Amani, whose resilience, hard work, and positive attitude have earned him a place as a finalist for the Academic Excellence Award.
Inspired by Winston Churchill’s words, “Success is not final, failure is not fatal. It is the courage to continue that counts,” Reza’s journey has been one of perseverance. Despite facing a long wait for his Australian visa, he remained focused, balancing his schoolwork with his goal of excellence. His determination paid off with the approval of his visa, marking the beginning of an exciting new chapter.
Through his connection with Noble Park Language School, Reza secured one of our Foundation’s Global Citizen Scholarships. Now thriving academically, Reza is to be congratulated for embracing the opportunities at St Leonard’s College. He feels honoured to be shortlisted for the Academic Excellence Award at the Multicultural Youth Awards, alongside many deserving students from across Victoria.
Reflecting on his journey, Reza shared, “I never could have dreamed of attending a school as wonderful as St Leonard’s. Back in Pakistan, the education system was centred around rote memorisation – prepare, learn, take the exam, and then forget. But here, the approach was entirely different. Personally, my greatest successes came from having amazing, supportive teachers who were always there to help me and the absolutely legendary friends who have accompanied me through the years in joy and happiness.”
Reza’s story exemplifies courage, determination, and gratitude. As a finalist in theMulticultural Youth Awards for Academic Excellence, he represents what it means to strive for greatness, not just in academics, but in building meaningful connections and embracing new opportunities.
Well done, Reza, we are so proud of you!
